Bach & Forth

I’m happy to tell you about a new group that I’m part of called “Bach & Forth”, as in starting with Bach, moving forth to other realms of music, returning to Bach and moving forth again.  Our group consists of Trudy Craney, soprano, who was in the original cast of “Nixon in China”, Linda Wetherill, flute, who was in the first group of Pierre Boulez’ IRCAM, myself on oboe and duduk, Rebecca Perea of “Counterclockwise” and “The Phoenix Trio” and Thom Bohlert, the director of music at the First Presbyterian Church in Easthampton.

We have two concerts scheduled at St. Peters Church in Manhatten at Lexington and 54th St., the first on Tuesday, February 26th at 8:00 pm and the second on Tuesday, May 14th also at 8:00 pm.  On the first concert, we will be performing several Bach arias, and a piece by Margaret Garwood called Six Japanese Songs involving soprano, oboe and piano, as well as a solo piece for cello by Ysaye.

We hope to see you there!
